Allocation rules for land division

چکیده

This paper studies the classical land division problem formalized by Steinhaus [27] in a multi-profile context. We propose a notion of an allocation rule for this setting. We discuss several examples of rules and properties they may satisfy. Central among these properties is division independence: a parcel may be partitioned into smaller parcels, these smaller parcels allocated according to the rule, leaving a recommended allocation for the original parcel. In conjunction with two other normative properties, division independence is shown to imply the principle of utilitarianism. The goal of multi-objective land use assessment and allocation (MOLAA) is provision of an optimal allocation of all land uses with maximum suitability. Different techniques of multiple criteria decision making have proven useful as decision support tool for solving a MOLAA problem. SA and MOLA are two different MCDM approaches that can provide solution to a MOLAA problem using different decisio...

PSOLA: A Heuristic Land-Use Allocation Model Using Patch-Level Operations and Knowledge-Informed Rules

Optimizing land-use allocation is important to regional sustainable development, as it promotes the social equality of public services, increases the economic benefits of land-use activities, and reduces the ecological risk of land-use planning. Most land-use optimization models allocate land-use using cell-level operations that fragment land-use patches. These models do not cooperate well with...

LAGA: A Software for Landscape Allocation using Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, Landscape Allocation using Genetic Algorithm (LAGA), a spatial multi-objective land use optimization software is introduced. The software helps in searching for optimal land use when multiple objectives such as suitability, area, cohesion and edge density indices are simultaneously involved. LAGA is a flexible and easy to use genetic algorithm-based software for optimizing the sp...

Urban Land-Use Allocation By A Cell-based Multi-Objective Optimization Algorithm

Allocating urban land-uses to land-units with regard to different criteria and constraints is considered as a spatial multi-objective problem. Generating various urban land-use layouts with respect to defined objectives for urban land-use allocation can support urban planners in confirming appropriate layouts. Hence, in this research, a multi-objective optimization algorithm based on grid is pr...

Optimal Strategy of State Lands allocation in Islamic Economics: Game Theory Approach

In the Islamic legal and economic system, a precise mechanism for land use is defined. The classification of lands, along with the flexible methods available to the government for the allocation of land, raises the question of what is the most desirable method for state lands allocation based on the Islamic legal and economic system? Accordingly, the purpose of the present study is to find a fa...
